A friend of mine saw a church sign which said, "There are no taxes on your riches in
heaven." That’s both true and brings a smile to our faces, right? But
thinking further about it, consider this:
Not a penny of the money or the “stuff” subject to taxes on earth is
part of our riches in heaven anyway! Not a cent!
Here’s one possible implication:
If I'm overly concerned about my taxes being too high on earth, perhaps
it’s because I'm too invested in the stuff being taxed—the money and
property and toys which are not part of my ultimate riches anyway.
The true riches never get taxed. On the contrary, the true riches pay
dividends of joy (beginning immediately) and the grace of giving compounds exponentially. God's accounting
transcends debits and credits.
